Houston Baptist Association

A word from our Associational Missionary...
Greetings in the Name of the Lord,

It is great to be a part of the Family of God.  To know that we serve a God who loves us so much that He gave His only Son for us.  To be a part of the creation that only a Holy God could have created and to be His greatest creation is such an honor and a privilege.

We had a tremendous annual meeting October 21st at FBC Vienna.  They were a great host with great facilities, fantastic food and wonderful hospitality.  Thanks to Rev. Tony Register for the great job he did as the associational moderator for this past year and we look forward to Rev. Doug James who was elected the moderator for this year and the work he will do.  Thanks also to Dr. Mason Davis and Rev. Matthew Stephens for the powerful sermons that they preached at the meeting.  I want to especially thank those who attended and we look forward to next year when we meet at Northern Heights Baptist Church in Cordele.

This nation will go to the voting booths November 4th.  This could be the most important election in our lifetime and for the future of this nation that we hold near and dear to our heart.  No one should try to tell anyone who to vote for as the right to vote for the person of our choice is what this nation’s freedom was established for but you and I should seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit and look at each candidate at each level of government and decide which one stands for the Biblical values that are our standard that we as Christians live by.  There is no doubt we as a nation have turned away from God and we deserve whatever He has in store for us but if we will repent with true heartfelt repentance then God will forgive us and heal our land.  Cry out for His mercy, His grace, and His love that He showed us on the Cross.

November is the month of the year that we remember to give thanks to our Heavenly Father for all He has done, is doing and will do for us.  Living a thankful life should be a daily process may we not forget to truly give thanks to Him during the good times, during the bad times and with each and every breath that we take.

God Bless You,

Ray Burnette
