Praise the Lord from whom all blessings flow! We have made it through the summer slump! I trust that you and your church survived as well. It is good to look out from the pulpit and see the pews filling up again. It is good to see the number of people who are willing to serve the Lord through the local church. It is my prayer that more and more of Gods' people will commit to serve Him through the local association as well.
How is your commitment level? Are you committed to your Lord the way that He was to you when He went to Calvary? Are you committed to your church to be at each and every service unless you are providentially hindered? Are you as committed to the Lord and your Church as your favorite football team? Are you as committed to your Lord as you are to your family?
These may be tough questions however, just remember, without our precious Lord and Savior, we would have nothing! There would be no football teams, no families to love and cherish! If not for our Lord Jesus Christ, we would not have today! We will not have tomorrow if not for Him?
Are we truly committed to the Lord Jesus Christ? Ask yourself that question. Only you and the Good Lord know the answer. I hope and pray that we as God's children and members of our Baptist Churches and of the Association that we are committed to serve HIM!
It is my prayer that God help us become as committed to HIM, as HE is to us!!
In His Service,
Doug James

I want to thank everyone for your prayers, donations of money, clothing and school supplies for our West Virginia Mission trip last month. We had a wonderful time and our Lord used the sixty-seven from six of our HBA churches who went in a wonderful way. We sponsored two Vacation Bible Schools and one Construction Team. The Construction Team built a handicap ramp at the home of a nine year old boy who had never been able to go outside his home without help in his life. Now he can take his wheelchair up and down the ramps to enter and exit his home on his own. Both Vacation Bible Schools were a great success. Each church had good attendance from their communities. We had six professions of faith in one VBS and five professions of faith in the other along with one profession of faith from a member of our team. We give the praise to our Lord for all that He accomplished in and through our team.
